Islands under high-surf advisory through Sunday evening
A high-surf advisory is in effect for the east-facing shores of all islands until 6 p.m. Sunday, with surf of 5 to 8 feet expected through Sunday afternoon.
The National Weather Service issued the advisory for the windward and south shores of Oahu, the windward shores of Kauai, Molokai and Maui; and the north- and east-facing shores of Hawaii island.
Forecasters predict strong and gusty tradewinds will push “sloppy, short-period surf” across the east-facing shores of the islands.

Very powerful and many times unpredictable summer swells.
