Driver accused of crashing into Los Angeles home surrenders
LOS ANGELES » A woman suspected of crashing a car into a Los Angeles home, killing one person and injuring eight others, has surrendered to police.
Authorities say 34-year-old Rashanda Norman was arrested Thursday evening on suspicion of hit-and-run. She remained jailed Friday, and it isn’t clear if she has an attorney.
Investigators believe Norman was behind the wheel of a Buick Regal that jumped over a curb Wednesday night.
The car plowed into the living room of a home that was hosting a prayer meeting, and the driver ran off.
Elsa Debelen’s husband tells KABC-TV that the 72-year-old woman was killed.
