UH soccer team wins at Denver
Paige Okazaki and Addie Steiner scored goals a few minutes apart early in the second half to give the Hawaii soccer team a 2-0 win at Denver today.
UH (6-1-1) bounced back from Friday’s loss at Colorado and won on the road for the first time this season. Okazaki’s 55th-minute score was the junior’s first career game-winner, while Steiner added insurance in the 59th minute with her second score of the season off an assist from Dani Crawford.
Senior goalkeeper Monk Berger recorded her fourth solo shutout of the year, giving her 13 for her career — passing Kori Lu for sole possession of the UH record.
Denver (3-5) had a two-game winning streak snapped.
The Wahine conclude nonconference play and their road trip Tuesday at Air Force (2-1-1) in Colorado Springs.
