LSU has fired coach Les Miles and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, and promoted defensive line coach Ed Orgeron to interim head coach.

LSU athletic director Joe Alleva made the announcement Sunday, saying Miles has done a “tremendous job” and been a “great ambassador” for LSU, but that “it’s apparent in evaluating the program through the first month of the season that a change has to be made.”

Miles’ firing, reported first by The Advocate of Baton Rouge, comes one day after LSU (2-2, 1-1 Southeastern Conference), which spent last week ranked 18th, lost 18-13 at unranked Auburn. LSU has fallen completely out of the latest AP Poll released Sunday afternoon.

Miles went 114-34 at LSU, the second-most victories in school history. He coached the Tigers to a national title in the 2007 season.

Looks like coaches need to be progressive. Get stuck into using long gone play books and not being able to stay ahead of the game will get one fired.
