The H-1 freeway is closed in the westbound direction near the Middle Street merge due to an accident, according to Honolulu police.

The closure was reported around 10:51 a.m. at the Moanalua Freeway split.

Police are advising motorists to stay on Moanalua Freeway and expect delays.

    Passed that accident a while ago. Looked like 2 cars and a tour bus that were heading to the airport right at the split. All those lanes blocked off. Plus, you get 3 fire trucks and a bunch of police cars and an ambulance. We were in far left lane on H1 heading west, so, lucky to get out of there. Lots of cars on freeways, so, slow down people. Drive safe…
