Crash, argument closes Waianae road
Waianae Valley Road near Mill Street was briefly closed in both directions tonight following a two-car accident.
The crash apparently led to a physical argument between two drivers, according to a preliminary report from police.
The road was closed a little after 8 p.m., and police were planning to divert traffic. The road was reopened shortly afterwards. No injuries were reported.

Scary Allie.
There… you received a response to your post.
Happy ?
In this instance I kind of agree with allie. In fact, I’d expand it to the whole island. Just this morning some old fool in an equally old tan American coupe took exception to being passed. And so, at 70 mph, he kept screaming as he paced me in the adjacent lane. Such is “driving with aloha” these days.
Arrive alive.
yup
We’ve probably all had at least one encounter with a nut-job behind the wheel but I still maintain that Hawaii drivers are generally much more polite and considerate than drivers on the mainland. (try driving in Boston if you have a death-wish) In fact, sometimes they are dangerously polite, waving me through an intersection when they actually have the right-of-way. But still, I appreciate living in a place where people flash you a “shaka” even when cutting you off on the on-ramp. 🙂
If every Hawaii driver knew what “the right of way” means, and drove accordingly, then I would consider that “Aloha Spirit” enough. Just striving to be polite as you drive is fine, but driving smart is infinitely better and more welcome.
Less see, one “pysical argument”, as’ mus’ mean one beef or t’row blows, yeah?
off-road rage!
I drove through that intersection yesterday, as I’ve done numerous times. It’s a normal four-way stop with clear visibility. First come, first go. On a busy day, it’s still not a hectic interchange. Mellow, mostly slow residential traffic. Nothing at all like the five-way intersection in where East Manoa meets Manoa, Lowry and another road.

“a physical argument”. . . you mean a “fight”??
Portuguese are famous for physical arguments. Just watch the hands.
Accident. Throw blows. Yep. That should solve it.
Still get your fault insurance out there.
