Actress and producer Tika Sumpter, right, and actor Parker Sawyers pose for a portrait to promote the film, “Southside with You”, at the Toyota Mirai Music Lodge during the Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 25 in Park City, Utah.

It’s only been two weeks since President Barack Obama left office, but some people are already missing the former president from Hawaii.

“Southside With You” will air on the outdoor screen at the free monthly Courtyard Cinema event Feb. 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Ward Village Courtyard, 1240 Ala Moana Blvd.

The PG-13 movie, which garnered critical acclaim at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, follows the first date of a young Michelle Robinson (Tika Sumpter) and Barack Obama (Parker Sawyers).

Courtyard Cinema presents films curated by the Hawaii International Film Festival on the second Thursday of every month.

The event is free, but tickets are required; register at 808ne.ws/wardcinema.
