Hawaii sweeps Cal Baptist, extends win streak to 7
Sophomore opposite Stijn van Tilburg put down 10 kills without an error and sophomore hitter Brett Rosenmeier also had 10 kills to lead No. 5 Hawaii to a 25-13, 25-17, 25-19 victory over Cal Baptist in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men’s volleyball match tonight in Riverside, Calif.
Rosenmeier had his first career double-double when coming up with 11 digs. Van Tilburg, errorless on 19 attempts, also was in on five of the team’s 11.5 blocks as the Rainbow Warriors improved to 12-2 overall, 5-2 MPSF, with their seventh consecutive win.
Kevin Vaz led the Lancers (3-9, 1-7) with seven kills.
Hawaii leaves Sunday for St. Louis and its first regular-season trip to the midwest. The Warriors are at MIVA opponents McKendree (5-10, 1-4) on Tuesday in Lebanon, Ill., and Lindenwood (0-10, 0-6) Wednesday in St. Charles, Mo.
