Honolulu police reopened Sierra Drive between Waialae Avenue and Center Street at 2:51 p.m. today.

The road had been closed at around 2 p.m. because of a synthetic natural gas leak, police said.

No other details were available regarding the leak as police were still investigating this afternoon.

Police issued an advisory on the situation shortly after 2 p.m., urging motorists to use other alternative routes.
