Police looking for men who posed as police in home invasion robbery

CrimeStoppers and Honolulu police are seeking information that could help them find three men who posed as police officers in a Punchbowl home invasion armed robbery Wednesday.

Honolulu police are asking for help from the public to find three men who posed as police officers in a Punchbowl home invasion armed robbery Wednesday.

The robbery occurred at about 12:35 a.m. on Kamamalu Avenue when three males knocked on the door of a residence and claimed to be police officers, according to a Crimestoppers news release. After the residents opened the door they were bound with duct tape, and the suspects took property at gunpoint. The press release provided no further details on the items taken, or how many people were in the home at the time of the incident.

Police said the men are wanted on first-degree robbery charges.

The first suspect is described as a Polynesian male in his 30s, 5 feet 6 inches tall, heavy build with black hair, black pants and a “SHOPO” T-shirt.

The second suspect is also described as a Polynesian male in his 30s, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 160 pounds, black hair, black pants and also wearing a “SHOPO” T-shirt.

The third is described as African-American in his 40s, 6 feet 2 inches tall, heavy build, black hair, black pants and wearing an “HPD” T-shirt.
