One of two men has been charged for allegedly robbing a taxi driver in Kalihi.

Samson Isaako, also known as Samson Tagataese, was charged Saturday with first-degree robbery and first-degree criminal property damage. His aggregate bail is set at $75,000.

Shortly after 1 a.m. Friday, police said a 24-year-old taxi driver picked up a man. While stopped at a traffic light, a second man later identified as Isaako approached the driver’s window and brandished a dangerous instrument.

Police said the other man held the driver down while both culprits demanded the victim’s property.

The two men fled the scene but police located and arrested Isaako on North King Street shortly after.

Police said the other suspect remains at large.
