Wahine make quick work of Riverside

Hawaii outside hitter McKenna Granato hit the ball past UC Riverside middle blocker Yuliya Ushakova (5) and setter Chelsea Doyle (9) during the first set.

Senior middle Emily Maglio put down 19 kills for her 15th match in double digits and Hawaii swept UC Riverside 25-22, 25-12, 25-18 in a Big West volleyball match tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Maglio was in on seven of the 11 blocks for the Rainbow Wahine (14-6, 8-1). Senior libero Savanah Kahakai added 10 digs for her 16th match in double figures; she is seven away from 1,300 in her career.

Junior hitter McKenna Granato had 13 kills and 13 digs for her eighth double-double. Senior defensive specialist Clare-Marie Anderson added a career-high 11 digs.

Sophomore hitter Mickayla Sherman had six kills and outside hitter Kaiulani Ahuna (Kamehameha-Hawaii) five kills to lead the Highlanders (9-11, 1-7). UCR drops to 0-23 against Hawaii.
