More stadiums planned for Las Vegas
It’s been announced that groundbreaking for the Raiders Stadium will take place in November, but it’s not the only stadium/arena in the works. Plans for an indoor arena on the north end of the strip have resurfaced and gotten grander.
The project now includes a 63-story, 2,000-room hotel, a 240,000-square-foot conference center, a 2,500-seat showroom, a bowling alley and a wedding chapel. Originally announced at $1.3 billion, the projected tab has ballooned to $2.7 billion.
And, unlikely as it sounds, a third stadium has been announced as the new home of the Las Vegas 51s minor league baseball team. The $150-million 10,000-seat open-air stadium will be called the Las Vegas Ballpark and reside near Red Rock Resort on the far west side of town.
Strip/Trop Bridge
The pedestrian bridge between Excalibur and New York-New York is closed for renovation. It’s the last of the four bridges at the strip and Tropicana to receive upgrades and will reopen Dec. 29. The bridges on that corner are traveled by 130,000 people daily.

Question: I’ve heard that Adele has signed a deal to play on the strip. Do you have details?
Answer: No. And neither does anyone else at this time. The multi-Grammy Award-winning singer has been the subject of strip-residency rumors for a few years now, but no solid plans appear to be in the works.
