Khalifa returns to Honolulu for DJ set at Pure
Three-time Billboard Music Award winner and Grammy Award-nominated hip-hop artist Wiz Khalifa returns to Honolulu this week with L.A. rapper Ty Dolla $ign to perform Friday at Pure Nightclub.
Khalifa, best known for his 2012 hit “Black and Yellow” and 2016’s “See You Again,” will assume his DJ persona, DJ DaddyKat, for this weekend’s appearance in Kalihi presented by Echelon Music Group.
Ty Dolla $ign is expected to perform his songs “Love U Better” and “So Am I” off 2017’s “Beach House 3,” as well as reprise his guest verses on 2016 hits “Work from Home” by Fifth Harmony and collaboration track “Sucker for Pain” from the movie “Suicide Squad.”
Doors open at 10 p.m. Friday at Pure Nightclub, 985 Dillingham Blvd. Tickets are $55, plus fees, at eventbrite.com. Following outdoor performances by Khalifa and Ty Dolla $ign for all ages, the party will move inside Pure with DJs Mastermind, Sidereal and Ill Phil keeping the party going for those 21-and-over until 4 a.m.
