BYU hands UH baseball first loss of season
Brock Hale’s sacrifice fly drove in the go-ahead run in the 10th inning to lift Brigham Young to a 4-3 baseball victory over Hawaii tonight at Les Murakami Stadium.
The Cougars loaded the bases with one out in the 10th. Hale, who was hitless in his four previous at-bats, lofted a fly ball to right field to score Mitch McIntyre from third. It was the first run the UH bullpen allowed in 14 1/3 innings this season.
The four-game series is tied at 1 entering Saturday’s noon doubleheader.
The ’Bows lost for the first time in five games this season.
The Cougars improved to 4-2.
