A pedestrian was injured after she was struck by a car at the intersection of Dillingham Boulevard and Kalihi Street this morning.

Emergency Medical Services transported a 57-year-old woman to a hospital after she was struck by a vehicle in Kalihi early today.

At about 5:20 a.m. near Kalihi Kai Elementary School, Lt. Ben Moszkowicz, acting captain of the Honolulu Police Department’s Traffic Division, said a white 1998 Mitsubishi Montero operated by a 58-year-old man was traveling mauka on Kalihi Street and made a left turn onto Dillingham Boulevard when he struck the pedestrian.

The woman, of Kalihi, was walking in a marked crosswalk when the vehicle struck her. EMS treated and transported her to a hospital in critical condition.

Police temporarily shut down a section of the westbound lanes of Dillingham Boulevard to investigate.
