All eastbound H-1 lanes in Aiea open after delay in finishing overnight roadwork

The Zipper lane and H-1 eastbound high occupancy vehicle lane are open to all vehicles this morning because a state contractor doing overnight road work near Aiea has been delayed re-opening lanes.

All lanes were reopened by about 5:20 a.m. but Honolulu-bound motorists are hitting heavy traffic through Pearl City.

The state Department of Transportation said in a tweet earlier this morning “our contractor will be reopening 3 lanes on the H1 eastbound through Pearl City to Aiea late due to grading issues. We expect lanes to reopen by 5:30am. Please expect delays.”
