Hawaii libero Reyn “Tita” Akiu (7) and setter Norene Iosia (10) react after coming up short on a dig against the Oregon Ducks tonight.

Senior middle Sarah Liva put down nine kills and senior libero Tita Akiu had her eighth straight match with double-digit digs, but it was not enough as Hawaii was swept by No. 12 Oregon 25-18, 25-23, 25-22 tonight in a nonconference volleyball match at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Senior hitter Lindsey Vander Weide led the Ducks (6-3) with 15 kills and junior middle Ronika Stone added 11.

The teams meet again at 7 p.m. Friday. That match is preceded by the Wahine alumnae match at 4:30 p.m.

Akiu had a match-high 16 digs for the Wahine (4-4). Liva had just one hitting error in 16 attempts.
