Police are investigating the death of an 18-year-old woman who sustained a gunshot wound to the head on Hawaii island Monday.

Positive identification is pending.

She was medevaced to a hospital on Oahu where she was pronounced dead shortly after 9 p.m.

Honolulu police, who had information on the case because she was medevaced to Honolulu,  said the victim was found outside of a suspected drug house with suspicious injuries Monday night.

Police did not release the location of the house.

Officers did not find a firearm at the scene. Hawaii island police provided no further details on the case.
