The filming of a scene for CBS’s “Magnum P.I.” will close a stretch of Kalanianaole Highway in Waimanalo on Monday.

A stretch of Kalanianaole Highway in Waimanalo is scheduled for closure Monday for the filming of a scene for CBS’s “Magnum P.I.,” state transportation officials said.

From 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, the Waimanalo bound lanes of the highway will be closed between Keolu Drive and Olomana Golf Club.

The Kailua bound lanes will be contraflowed to allow for two-way traffic. A detour for traffic heading towards the golf course will also be available.

During the hours of closure, public transportation services will run as regularly scheduled.

Message boards will be posted to inform motorists of the detour, while special duty police officers will be on site to assist with traffic control.

The Hawaii Department of Transportation reminds motorists to allow for extra travel time and to drive with caution.
