A man, 68, is now in critical condition after he was partially pinned by an SUV that crashed into his single-story Manoa home Monday afternoon.
The man was reportedly inside the house when the SUV, driven by the woman, barrelled through the wall, partially pinning him under the vehicle, authorities said. The driver was traveling westbound on Anela Place with three other passengers when the SUV went down a steep incline and for unknown reasons lost control of the vehicle, police said.
The rear of the SUV was visibly sticking out of the brown wooden home as Honolulu fire and police crews were on the scene at 3670 Woodlawn Terrace Place Monday afternoon. Paramedics administered advanced life support on the scene and transported both patients to the emergency room.
The woman, 72, is in good condition, police said. An earlier Emergency Medical Services report identified both as in serious condition.
The other SUV passengers, described as an 8-year-old female, a 39-year-old male and a 41-year-old female, declined to be transported to the hospital.
Police said speed, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors to this collision at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
