Muggy weather and chance of showers forecast all week

Forecasters say you may want to keep your umbrella handy and air conditioning on for most of the week.

Kona winds from the southeast are bringing muggy weather to the islands and the chance of afternoon showers today. The winds could also bring vog from Hawaii island up to the northwestern islands.

Forecasters say radar shows moderate to heavy showers offshore of Oahu this morning. Rain is predicted for windward areas in the morning.

Daytime heating and shifting winds may bring showers to leeward and central areas this afternoon.

A weather system west of the islands is cutting off the tradewinds and bringing the Kona winds up from the south.

The muggy weather and chance of windward morning and leeward afternoon showers is expected to persist through the week.
