For the second time in three months, a University of Hawaii football player has been arrested for suspicion of drunken driving.

Alema Tachibana, 23, a backup linebacker from Kahuku High, was arrested at 4:55 Saturday morning at the intersection of Likelike Highway and Kamehameha IV Road. He was released after posting $500 bail.

Tachibana is scheduled to appear in District Court on July 16.

The Warriors open training camp on Aug. 1.

On March 28, quarterback Cayman Shutter was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. He pleaded no contest to the charge, and was ordered to pay $418 in fines and attend drivers-education classes and substance-awareness program. Chow suspended Shutter for the first four games of the 2012 season.
