City officials will formally reopen an expanded and improved Banzai Rock Skate Park in Pupukea Wednesday.

Phase II of the North Shore facility includes “street elements” that were envisioned under the park’s original design, including ramps, banks, rails and stairs laid out and designed to accommodate skaters of all skill levels.

Existing elements of Phase 1 have been left in place, city officials said.

Mayor Kirk Caldwell and other city officials will hold a formal ceremony at 11 a.m.
