BOSTON » A national museum devoted to crime and punishment has a new exhibition showcasing the Boston Marathon bombings and other domestic terrorism.

The Washington, D.C.-based Crime Museum is launching "Domestic Terrorism and Hate Crimes" on Wednesday. The new exhibit features the 2013 marathon bombings and other attacks committed on U.S. soil, including hate crimes.

The museum says the display will include visuals and objects such as a runner’s medal and bib number. Rubble from the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and other items including a Ku Klux Klan robe and letters from the so-called Unabomber also will be on display.

Crime Museum chief operating officer Janine Vaccarello says she hopes the exhibition will raise awareness "and change behavior for the better."
