Man arrested after allegedly stealing items from tourist
A 22-year-old man was arrested Saturday after he grabbed a tourist’s backpack from her chair in Waikele, police said.
The man took the 32-year-old woman’s bag off the back of her chair while she was sitting in it about 4 p.m., police said.
Witnesses chased the man, who was found nearby with the woman’s belongings.
Police arrested the man, who does not have a local address, for investigation of second-degree theft.
