HFD responded to a house fire at 1531 Kewalo Street in Makiki on Saturday morning.

A man died today in a three-alarm structure fire in Maliki.

Fire Capt. James Todd said two people were home when the blaze started.

The man was in his 50s. The man’s daughter, who is in her 20s, was able to escape by jumping out of a window, Todd said.

The fire was reported about 11 a.m. and extinguished at 12:33 pm

The fire was at 1531 Kewalo Street.

The cause was not determined. 

Todd said the fire caused $420,000 in damages.
