Wahine hoops team blown out at Riverside
The Hawaii women’s basketball team remained near the bottom of the Big West after getting blown out 79-57 at UC Riverside today.
UH (8-10, 1-4 BWC) led for the opening minutes at SRC Arena, then fell behind decisively to the Highlanders (6-13, 3-2). Sarah Toeaina scored 21 points to lead the Rainbow Wahine, but no one else scored more than 11 as UH lost to UCR for the fifth straight time.
Guard Lauren Holt led UCR with 24 points.
The Wahine continue their road trip at UC Irvine on Saturday. The Anteaters beat UH by seven in the teams’ first matchup of the season last week in Honolulu.
