Florida visitor, 36, arrested on Maui for allegedly violating COVID-19 emergency rules
A 36-year-old visitor has been charged after he allegedly violated COVID-19 emergency rules when he did not have on hand a negative pre-travel COVID-19 test upon arrival at Kahului Airport in Maui County.
Dillon Rogers of Florida flew to Maui from San Francisco at about 9:35 p.m. Monday. When he arrived at the airport, he did not have a negative pre-travel test result nor a required valid place of lodging to self-quarantine as required under Gov. Ige’s emergency proclamation, police said.
Police arrested Rogers. He remains in custody in lieu of $2,000 bail.
Officials remind travelers to check updated emergency proclamations issued by Ige and Mayor Michael Victorino.
