The Honolulu Star-Advertiser, Hawaii’s largest news-gathering organization, published its first edition June 7, 2010, after the merger of the 128-year-old Honolulu Star-Bulletin and the 154-year-old Honolulu Advertiser.
The newspaper is managed by Oahu Publications Inc., a subsidiary of newspaper group Black Press, founded by Canadian entrepreneur David Black.
Dennis Francis is president of Oahu Publications and publisher of the Star-Advertiser. The Star-Advertiser’s senior management team also includes Chief Revenue Office Dave Kennedy; Senior Vice President, Audience & Operations Aaron J. Kotarek; and Vice President of Digital Troy Fujimoto.
The newsroom and administrative offices are in Building 7 of Waterfront Plaza at 500 Ala Moana Blvd.
