Hawaii’s 50-year wait for Diana Ross’ first concert in the islands just got a day shorter.

With the June 13 show at the Blaisdell Arena sold out, a show has been added on June 12, also at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale Saturday morning at 9.

Tickets to the original Honolulu show and the June 14 show at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center didn’t officially go on sale until Friday, but presales limited to Hawaii residents and MACC members started Sunday with an eye toward avoiding the uproar that occurred last year when a large percentage of tickets to Bruno Mars’ shows were shipped out of state.

When the first Maui show nearly sold out Sunday, a June 15 show was added Monday. The June 14 show has since sold out, becoming the highest-grossing concert ever at the MACC’s Castle Theater. The original Oahu show sold out Friday morning — and became Ross’ highest-grossing concert ever, according to promoter Rick Bartalini — prompting the addition of the June 12 concert.

Tickets for the June 12 show on Oahu will be available at ticketmaster.com, as well as at the Blaisdell Center box office and by phone at 800-745-3000 at 9 a.m. Saturday. Tickets for the Maui show on June 15 can be purchased now at mauiarts.org, as well as at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center box office and by phone at 808-242-7469.

A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales to all shows will benefit the Never Surrender Foundation for at-risk LGBT youths.

Ross, who turned 71 Thursday, rose to fame in the mid-’60s as lead singer of the Supremes before going solo in 1970. She has sung lead on 18 No. 1 songs — including "Stop! In the Name of Love" and her duet with Lionel Richie, "Endless Love" — and been nominated for a Best Actress Oscar. She has sold more than 50 million albums in the U.S.
