Gulden is PacWest runner of week

Brigham Young-Hawaii’s Matthew Gulden was picked as the Pacific West Conference runner of the week yesterday.

Gulden won the Hawaii Big Wave Invitational 5K race on Saturday in 16 minutes, 10.95 seconds to lead the Seasiders to a first-place finish.

Bukoski is soccer player of week

Hawaii Pacific’s Chance Bukoski was named the PacWest player of the week.

Bukoski scored four goals in two wins last week, including game-winning goals against Chaminade and Brigham Young-Hawaii.

UHH tied for fifth at golf tourney

Hawaii-Hilo is tied for fifth place after the first round at the Concordia University Wildwood Lodge Invitational golf tournament at Lake Elmo, Minn.

Augustana (S.D.) leads the team event at 12-over 300, and UHH is 35 strokes back.

The Vulcans’ Nicole Aoki is tied for 18th place at 9-over 81, and she trails co-leaders Emily Kvidera of Augustana and Concordia’s Kaytie Spangler by seven strokes.
