Traffic was light early Thursday morning on Kuhio Avenue after a pipe break closed Ewa-bound lanes until repairs are completed.

Ewa-bound lanes of Kuhio Avenue are closed at Kalaimoku Street in Waikiki Thursday morning as Board of Water Supply crews fix a valve on a 12-inch main that broke at bout 12:30 a.m.

Special duty officers are helping to redirect traffic on Kuhio Avenue.

Motorists are urged to use alternate routes.

Crews are also working to set up a water bypass and a water wagon was sent to Kalimoku Street to help eight customers without water service.

The repairs are expected to take most of the day.
