Former University of Hawaii receiver Greg Salas was signed by the Buffalo Bills.

Salas, drafted in the fourth round by the St. Louis Rams in 2011, also has played for New England, Philadelphia and the New York Jets.

He was with the Detroit Lions, who released him at the start of the season after he suffered a knee injury in the final preseason game. He led the team in the preseason with 10 catches for 138 yards and a touchdown.

Before signing Salas, Buffalo placed wide receiver Robert Woods on injured reserve and also released receiver/kick returner Marcus Thigpen.

Also, former Baldwin player John Lotulelei was signed by the Oakland Raiders from their practice squad. The linebacker played his college ball at UNLV.

Just remember that the pros hit a lot harder than the college kids do.

Salas has all the tools for the NFL. Hope he stays healthy this time since he loves to get that extra yard every time he touches the ball.

Glad to see Hawaii making the nice list for once.
