Man arrested on suspicion of setting woman on fire
A 25-year-old man was arrested today on suspicion of setting a woman on fire inside a vehicle Monday, police said.
The incident occurred at Kahekili and Kamehameha highways.
The woman suffered second-degree burns to her arms, legs and back.
A flammable liquid was used in the crime and a vehicle was damaged by the ensuing blaze.
Police had classified the case as an attempted murder.
The suspect has a criminal conviction record that includes third-degree assault, violating a temporary restraining order, harassment and revocation or modification of probation.
