UH softball tournament rained out

Heavy rains washed out the final day of the University of Hawaii softball team’s Paradise Classic. Five games were scheduled for today but were canceled due to the weather and will not be made up.

UH went 2-1 in the tournament with wins over Sacramento State and Boise State on Thursday and a 2-0 loss to Oregon State on Friday in a game that started at 9 p.m. The Rainbow Wahine were scheduled to close the tournament with a doubleheader against Boise State and Alabama-Birmingham, but the rains left the field unplayable.

UH embarks on its annual early-season trip to Las Vegas next week to play in the DeMarini Desert Classic. The Rainbow Wahine will face BYU, San Jose State, Texas State, Memphis, Colorado State and Nevada in the four-day tournament starting Thursday.
