East-facing shores under high-surf advisory
The National Weather Service issued a high surf advisory for east facing shores this afternoon until 6 p.m. Friday.
Strong trades have resulted in rough and choppy surf along east-facing shores of all Hawaiian islands except Niihau and Lanai. Surf along east facing shores are expected to reach 5 to 8 feet. Conditions are expected to last through Friday, then drop below advisory levels as winds weaken, forecasters said this afternoon.
Expect strong, breaking waves. strong longshore waves and rip currents, making swimming difficult and dangerous, they said.
