Big Isle no longer under flood advisory

A satellite loop shows areas of heavy moisture over Hawaii island this morning.
An earlier flood advisory for Hawaii island has expired.
Heavy rains over some areas of Hawaii island had prompted weather officials to post a flood advisory for the island this morning.
Radar detected heavy rain, falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour, over the north Kohala mountains at 6:42 a.m. today, the National Weather Service said.
In effect until 9:45 a.m., the advisory included, but was not limited to, Waipio Valley, Kukuihaele, Hawi, Kamuela, Kawaihae, Waikoloa Village, Pololu Valley, Kohala Ranch, Halaula, Kapaau, Waimanu Valley and Puako.
