Police open attempted murder case after Lahaina man stabbed

A 45-year-old Lahaina man was transported to a hospital after another man allegedly stabbed him in Olowalu.

At about 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, police the two men were involved in a fight in the shoreline area of Honoapiilani Highway near the recycling and refuse center.

Police said the suspect stabbed the victim and fled in a vehicle before police arrived.

The victim was transported to the hospital in serious condition.

Police have initiated a second-degree attempted murder investigation.
