High surf pounds east shores of most islands
A high surf advisory remains in effect for the east shores of most islands.
The advisory for Oahu, Maui, Molokai and Hawaii island is scheduled to expire at 6 a.m. Thursday. Surf along affected shores is expected to reach 5 to 8 feet.
“Expect strong breaking waves, shore break, and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous,” forecasters said.
