Movers and Shakas (moversandshakas.org) is a new initiative to attract workers who can do their jobs remotely to come and stimulate the economy through their spending. Hawaii is not alone doing this.
The first accepted in the competitive program will get deals on airfare, accommodations and working space; in return they do volunteer work for a participating nonprofit.
Similar programs in rural states offer everything from student loan assistance to homesteading. Let’s see if Hawaii can compete.
