A 25-year-old woman who took a kayak to Mokulua Islands this afternoon had to be rescued after suffering a bout of nausea.

Honolulu Ocean Safety said it rescued the woman at around 2:15 p.m. because she was unable to kayak back to shore. Lifeguards brought her via jet ski to the Kailua Beach boat ramp, where Honolulu Emergency Medical Services personnel were waiting.

Paramedics evaluated the patient, who refused further medical treatment.
