A 60-year-old motorcyclist was critically injured after he crashed into a sedan in Aiea Sunday night, Honolulu police said.

The collision occurred on Moanalua Freeway near the Aiea Access Road onramp at about 11:20 p.m.

Police said a 2007 BMC motorcycle was traveling east on the freeway when it rear-ended a 2015 Hyundai driven by a 47-year-old woman.

The motorcyclist sustained severe leg injuries and was taken in critical condition to a hospital. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

Police said the Hyundai driver and her 24-year-old passenger were not injured.
