Oahu man dead in apparent drowning at Kipu Falls on Kauai
A 26-year-old Kaneohe man apparently drowned yesterday at Kipu Falls on Kauai.
The man was trying to swim to the edge of the pond after diving off the falls when he went underwater and never resurfaced about 5:50 p.m., a Kauai County spokeswoman said. A friend dove in but couldn’t find him.
Responding firefighters found the man at the bottom of the pond and transferred him to paramedics, who took him to Wilcox Memorial Hospital, where he died.
