A thin veil of vog blanketed Honolulu Thursday afternoon before heavy rain and wind rolled in.

A cold front headed southeast has passed Oahu and is set to move over the rest of the island chain today as heavy showers continue to soak Maui this morning.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service say the line of heavy showers is moving on from Maui and approaching the leeward coast of the Big Island.

The cloud bands may bring gusty winds, but are not expected to present a flooding threat as they move east around 20 to 25 mph, clearing the Big Island this afternoon.

The weather in Honolulu is expected to be cool and sunny today, with light winds from the west-northwest and temperatures in the low to mid-70s.
