Winds cause flight problems at LAX

LOS ANGELES >> Gusty winds caused problems for flights into and out of Los Angeles International Airport, the nation’s third busiest.
The Federal Aviation Administration says delays Sunday afternoon of up to an hour affected an unknown number of outbound flights. Some inbound flights also were affected for about 40 minutes.
The National Weather Service measured 25 mph winds at LAX, with gusts of 32 mph. Winds have also toppled trees and caused power outages in the area and around the West.
The delays weren’t as disruptive as a computer failure weeks ago that grounded flights in and out of Los Angeles-area airports for more than an hour, causing problems nationwide.
