Clear skies return as Georgette, Frank weaken

Georgette weakened early this morning from a tropical storm to a post-tropical cyclone while Frank returned to a tropical storm after reaching hurricane strength Monday.
With maximum sustained winds of 35 mph — half the strength that they were Monday — Georgette was located 1,295 miles west of Baja California at 5 a.m. today and moving northwest at 9 mph.
Farther east, Tropical Storm Frank was centered 695 miles west of Baja California, had maximum sustained winds of 65 mph and was moving west-northwest at 12 mph.
Forecasters expect Georgette to continue to weaken over the next two days.
In the meantime, most areas should see sunny to partly cloudy skies today, with relatively dry and stable tradewind weather through Friday.
Frank is expected to continue weakening today. Forecasters expect it to be a tropical depression by the end of the week.

Post-tropical cyclone? What’s the difference between a post-tropical cyclone and a tropical depression? I thought after a system weakens from a tropical storm it becomes a tropical depression? The last paragraph says Frank is expected to weaken to a tropical depression by the end of the week. Why not a post-tropical cyclone? Really wish stories like this would keep things simple and not use possibly interchangeable terminology.
