Matson Navigation Co.’s former President and Chief Executive Officer Michael S. Wasacz died yesterday in San Francisco. He was 73.
His career with Matson spanned 31 years, including eight years as its president and two years as head of parent company, Alexander & Baldwin Inc.
During the 1980s, he led Matson through major initiatives, including a 12-year ship construction program and the return of the S.S. Lurline to the fleet.
