A 47-year-old motorcyclist from Kilauea died after losing control of his bike and crashing last night in Anahola, Kauai officials said today.
The victim was identified as Patrick Belmonte. He was traveling westbound on Kukuihale Road near the Pilipoli Road when he crashed at 9:30 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kauai police said speed may have been a factor and that they are investigating the situation.
His death was the seventh traffic fatality of the year on Kauai.
