The regular monthly test of the state’s outdoor siren warning system and live audio broadcast is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. today.

Hawaii State Civil Defense officials said residents will hear a 45-second steady tone on all sirens.

Residents in areas surrounding Campbell Industrial Park, Honokai Hale, Makakilo, Kapolei Regional Park, Kapolei Golf Course, and the Coast Guard Station at Kalaeloa may also hear a “whooping” tone following the sirens, as part of a hazardous materials incident warning test.

In a real emergency, residents should turn on any radio or television station for essential information and instructions.
